Snow really brightens things up. It reflects light during dark days (even cloudy ones!) and adds a layer of soundproofing that makes everything seem peaceful, especially when it sticks in the trees.

As of Dec 7 we haven’t had any skiable snowfall; there have been a few flurries but it hasn’t been cold enough to stick any length of time, and even if it has there wasn’t quite enough for skiing.

We are mostly prepared for snow when it comes, and eager to try out our new skis. In a normal year many Stockholmers would head inland and North to the mountains to ski resorts, but we are definitely planning on staying put. So unless we get snow, it will be dirtshoeing for us, which is like snowshoeing but in your regular shoes and on dirt. Still fun!
Small fuzzy pony! We later saw 10 6-yr-old 4H kids brushing her lingering lingon
It is nice to get a feel for the seasons (even if the grey rainy one is not your favourite) and everyone feels better for it when they get back inside for a cup of tea (or glögg!)
